Fallout DLCs And Mods

Thinking Beyond Fallout 4's Release And Good Things To Come...

Before Fallout 4 has even been released, Bethesda have provided some info about DLCs for the game! They are offering a $30 Season Pass that covers "all of the Fallout 4 DLCs we ever do."

The company doesn't yet know what form the additional content for the game will take, but we certainly won't see it until 2016.

Fallout 4 Season Pass"Since we're still hard at work on the game, we don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year. Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass.", they said.

5 DLC packs were released for Fallout 3, 4 for Fallout: New Vegas and 3 for Skyrim. So expect between 3 and 5 DLCs for Fallout 4.

Bethesda says it is also planning "regular free updates" to Fallout 4. These will introduce fixes and add new features as was done with Skyrim - and some of its post-launch new features included mounted combat, a kill cam, a legendary mode, among other additions.

"We'll work with all of you to figure out what new things you'd love to see added to Fallout 4, whether they are small tweaks or new features," Bethesda said.

Bethesda won't be the only ones expanding the game. Game modders will get access to Fallout 4's Creation Kit early in 2016. And once that happens, expect to see an explosion of mods and new content for the game. The mods should also be available to XBox One players and sometime after, to PS4 players. It's unlikely that all mods will be available to console players though as mods will need to be vetted to make sure that they don't cause problems on the consoles.

"The most important thing in our games is the freedom you have to create your own experience, and modding is a big part of that," Bethesda said. "Like all our previous games, we've made sure to keep Fallout 4 open and moddable at every step in development."

If mods appeal to you, the best platform to play Fallout 4 on is a PC. But we knew that anyway!
